I have no plans to use a controller. Just watching them move through the macros in the alpha/beta vids was painful. I'm going to hook up my usb kb/mouse combo to the PS3. My lappy is too weak to handle the game, at least according to the benchmark.

I pretty much built the new PC for XIV and SCII.

No shit? We should try to get on the same server for XIV. I got a group of people from XI that are all meeting up on there. They're a pretty fun group of people. Have you played XI by chance?

I'm undecided if I'm picking up SC2. I have yet to run into any friends of mine that are picking it up.

I played XI from its launch to WoW's. I've played WoW off an on since, but im truly sick of it now.

I played XI since launch as well. Started on Alexander server then jumped to Remora. My name was Sutien before I sold him, and my first job was loldrg. I quit about 2 years ago now. I'm hoping XIV is like XI launch.. that was fun as hell.

I played WoW for like 2 weeks and hated it. After I quit XI I took up LoTRO for a couple months and quit when I got to "end game".. insanely hard instances that were beefed up because people were taking advantage of loopholes.. load of shit.

MMOs always seem to get scaled up to maintain their challenge for the l33t p0w3rgamerz, thus making them annoyingly hard for the casual gamer to succeed at (or even access) endgame content.

It's already been derailed, so might as well add to it. I like a challenge.. something to make me think, but they're doing it wrong. You can't just increase mob power tenfold and expect things to work out. I can go on night & day about the ups and downs of FFXI, but LoTRO can be summed up in just one word.. ridiculous.

There was an article written a while back about games (this one focuses on WoW) teaching the wrong lesson.
Worth a read if only because I'm betting you'll agree with a lot of the points if you've played many MMO's.
