I'm not a fan of Glock and I think for a lot of women they are not a great choice. First off Glocks have wide grips on them which women with smaller grips don't like. Also I just can't stand their plastic feel but that is me. I like steel frames and am more of a revolver guy.

Now one my GF shot and liked was the Springfield XD9. I shot it, liked it a lot, and found it to be very accurate. If you get the compact XD9 then you can buy a clip extension which will give it a full grip.

Kahr seemed to be another great choice that my GF really liked.

geez, if yer gonna talk smith you have to specify if you mean classic, sigma, or M&P. major differences abound

I actually don't remember. I tried to block that POS from my memory. Whatever it was, it was similar to the S&W you see cops carry.

Amber Lamps...weren't you the one getting into debates with everyone that had CC permits at the rally 2 years ago saying they aren't necessary and why should anyone carry? Funny how things change. Huh? The big argument for against full auto weapons... completely unnecessary. I honestly don't think that it's necessary to carry 24/7. Unlike some people, I believe in individual rights. My GF went and got her CC permit, which is fine by me, her decision, her right. Do I believe that it's necessary to carry a gun everywhere you go? Nope. I don't know what people like your friend do but I have lived in or around the hood for my entire life and I have never been robbed, nor have I had a gun pulled out on me. Weird.

Anyway, whether or not I believe that it is necessary for someone to cc is irrelevant, this is her gun, not mine. I always thought you were for women's rights, funny how things change.

Ok, what about the Glock 36 .45cal Slimline. Rather than being able to accept a double stack mag, it only takes a single stack mag and is only 1.13" wide. I don't see how you can say that Glocks are all too fat. As far as the plastic feeling grip; firstly it IS made of a polycabonate, secondly get one of these Hogue Handall.

I have to agree the Mak for anyone on a budget is a great choice.
On a different note after running through a series of pistols my wife like the Walther P99 with it's interchangeable back straps so it fits her hand.
She finds it easy to hit with.
That said and I know no one finds them "Cool" her primary carry is a Air weight S&W J Frame. When a gun HAS to work Give me a Wheel Gun.

my g/f just got the Taurus .38 cal revolver 2" barrel and she loves it. had her shooting it this weekend and just for fun put clay pigeons on the backstop. she was having a blast thrashing those things from 15 - 20 yards away.
