got my repair bill from mac yesterday...
$775 new optic drive, hard drive and main logic board... top case and bottom case the kicker is that they said because it was a field unit that they automaticly think it was damage from a drop cause the corners were chipped and had to replace the casing too FML calling the mac repair shop here in Nashville to see if I can get it done for cheaper with not repairing the case

remember I am dealing with a 120K dollar project, incidentals are built in to the funding, and i am hell on equipment, if it can break, odds are I have the incident report to prove it

I'm actually the apple campus rep for missouri state. lol. Now I have my 2.5 year old white macbook, a free 13 inch pro and a free ipod touch. All still run like champs. Hope you can get everything done for a decent price without losing everything.

i am pretty sure i lost everything, but the local apple shop said they would try and save the harddrive unlike the apple store that was planning on just scrapping it
