Anyways unfortunately PC gaming has taken a back seat in developers minds to consoles so most the stuff you see on PCs today are actually ports from consoles (I miss the good ole days when it was the other way around). However this means you can play a lot of the good console games with a mouse and keyboard the way god ment it to be

COD MW1. I also recommend Call of Duty 1 (also two expansion) and 2. The second one is an awesome classic now. World at War wasn't bad.

I agree that HL is a must play and as said above if you haven't played before start with the original the storyline is what makes the game great. I thought Doom 3 was a bit of a let down though.

most of the old PC games arent worth playing anymore because nobody plays them online.

BF2 was fucking awesome though.

diablo II was amazing, still is. i cant wait for III to come out, i will get a new PC for that. i will guarantee there are still people playing that too

Busted a salesman at Best Buy. A little kid was getting an early X-mas present, the goggles, was really jazzed. The mom was asking why and what they did, the salesman was telling them they were like IR or Thermal goggles. I said" No...they are night-vision, they amplify ambient light...just like the game...no light....no vision and its all in a green hue..." The kids was upset and the mom was pissed, the sales guy(full garb with a geek squad patch...asked me to leave. Called over the manager and asked him to escort me out, ended up with my game a book, posters, an extra gift card, free energy drinks and the dude was sent home. Dont lie to a kid to sell stuff.

Most of that list are pretty good games. I didn't like the fallout games that much though. I just wasn't into the whole stop time to aim thing. I wish I hadn't come out a week after farcry 2 did. That game was shut down by fallout.

Grid is an awesome racing game for PC. Never played it on xbox or ps3. Counterstrike should be added to the list too. Huge online playing.

And no, I don't even own a PC. I have a couple of macs, but a couple of my roommates have had badass built gaming towers that I used for the last couple of years. I was going to build one this spring, but funds went to other places. PC gaming is definitely underrated. Mouse/keyboard > controller any day of the week. Graphics blow xbox out of the water with good hardware.
