I don't agree with most zombie movies and games. You need to eliminate the entire head. Swords and other head severing methods are more likely to stop a zombie than some bullets to the brain. If they can survive with good portions of bits and bobs below the brain gone, they can surive with major brain damage as well. Eliminating a zombie by rifle would require extreme amounts of regular ammo. Best course, remove the entire head.
