No seriously, how can you survive that wearing full leathers? Is it just a matter of conditioning or what?

OK, so I supervised the event - I didn't ride. I rode during the week. I normally don't ride my events, if something were to happen to me during an event it would be a REALLY bad day for everyone. But, yes - it's about conditioning and a LOT of hydration.

Water can only do so much - I do one water with nuun to every two bottles of water.

My wife and I threw a big party last night and woke up late today so by the time we got the dogs and kids out to go bicycling it was already noon. We ran out of water out of two camelbacks and two water bottles only halfway through (about 5 miles total).

So my we were discussing whether or not we should go out in the heat like that anymore and my thought was that if we didn't and it keeps getting hotter and hotter outside we won't EVER be able to go out so we're just gonna have to keep doing it and get used to it.

So what is "nuun"?

Nuun is a tablet that you add to a water bottle - it is like Gatoraide without the crap you don't need.

www.nuun.com

I learned about it tri-training.

If you ever thought it was hot on a motorcycle.... it's even more hot on a bicycle. Talk about a weight loss program - have to be REALLY careful though.

Yea, I was afraid I was going to have to ride home ahead of everyone and pick up the car to come back and get 'em...and that was only 5 miles. We're supposed to go ride 20 miles in the morning but I'm not sure about all that now. Yikes.

Also, go check out my recumbent thread and throw some advice in there.
