if it was an accident, I can't imagine how that officer must feel.... but he's feeling more than the dead guy.

I don't think they were trying to excuse the shot. They were attempting to give the background to the entire situation. WHY the officers drew their weapons, when to the rest of us it looks like a few sweet and innocent boys up against a wall.

It doesn't excuse what happened.

It doesn't mean there shouldn't be manslaughter charges.

It means there was a reason for drawing a weapon, the situation warranted more than just tapping them on the shoulder. And, I'm quite sure the crowd didn't help things.

How horrible.

This was WAY before the guy got shot... keep approaching the cops and calling out names and in general making the cops nervous.

I disagree. Let's recall what his behavior was on the train that led up to this incident, shall we?

An innocent family is traveling on the train. This piece of shit tough guy and his buddies decide they want the father of the family's cell phone. The man decides he'd prefer to keep the things he's worked hard for. Piece of shit and his buddies beat the man to a bloody pulp in front of his family for fun, getting the cops called.

Now, given those circumstances, I firmly believe that each and every one of those "thugs" should have been lined up and shot in the head in full public view. Fuck them.

I'm not saying what this officer did was right, but don't for one second think this piece of human garbage didn't deserve it.
