Hmmm...true but I find many racing games to be too sim-like if you will. It makes them next to impossible to drive without hours and hours of practice. I think GT strikes a welcome balance between hardcore sims and Mario cart type racing games. Of course being chased by the cops definitely adds some welcome danger and excitement to the racing gendre imho.

Quick game? It takes like 5 minutes for a race to load.

This. FIA GTR 2 is my favorite sim of all time. 24 hour races and using real MOTEC software to analyze your car....

I have always been a papyrus fan myself. But I am biased because I did a lot of work with the old nascar sims.

I would play iracing but I am not a fan of subscription service.

The papyrus games were awesome. I remember getting Nascar 2003 and it blew my mind!

I dont know if you ever saw the stuff we were doing after Sierra went dead, but it made their work look like NES stuff. The game was taking on a life of it's own before iracing started mailing their stupid cease and desist letters. We had whole seperate .exes for running different styles of cars with very true physics.

Like what? I cant quite think of any titles.

No, I modded it. Did some models and car templates for painting.

Redline got shutdown before it went public. Ss.net did some nice tracks and was working on a full mod when they got shutdown. The indycar hack was nice. Project wildfire did work for papy.

Anyone actually good at the game? I need someone to race against.. All the other people so far I've encountered in multiplayer fail miserably.
