CCI Stingers are going for $5.50 for a box of 50 @ WallyWorld. I've yet to find anything that works as well for general plinking in my 10/22. 1640 fps makes for good accuracy, and the copper coated slugs keep the mess to a minimum. JC

Also, Stingers have a case that's a tad longer than a standard 22lr. This can cause them to damage match chambers and doesn't allow them to seat properly in (some) sporter chambers. They'll do ok for short to medium range hunting, though... they're just not great if you're paper punching. Fwiw, Green Mountain makes a 10/22 barrel that has a 'Stinger chamber' and is bored at 1 in 18 rather than 1 in 16 http://www.shootersdiscount.com/cart...&productId=774

There are always exceptions. Rimfires are notoriously picky about the ammo with which they shoot best, and it seems yours just prefers Stingers.
In general, though, Stingers aren't going to make many people's list as a good target round. While we're off topic... what all have you done to that 10/22 you're shooting? 1/2" groups at 50 yards is good for a stock rifle or lightly modified 10/22... but 100yds? Wow.
