Sorry for the loss, and thanks for looking out for the old man... might have to stop in more often.

On another note - I am 100% in agreement with Tigger on this [NEVER thought I would ever type that]. I absolutely loathe "pets" roaming outside. If you care so much about a "pet" then keep it a pet by keeping it indoors where it belongs.

I am sorry for your loss. Kerry lost his favorite cat years ago in the same situation. All of my cats are indoors only. They get access to the deck to sun bath but no roaming the neighborhood. I watch a tiny kitten get hit last year and ran to help it but it was on his way out and there was nothing I could do but walk away. Very sad.

Pets are inside, animals are outside.

When my dog goes outside, he's on a leash. I try to be a responsible pet owner.

Has anyone actually had a cat on a leash? Can you train them to walk on a leash?

I've had a cat on a leash. It walked. Backwards. Than it sank to the ground and refused to do anything but lay there.

Only "oriental" cat breeds (Siamese, Burmese) display the more dog-like personalities that would easily lend themselves to leash training. Most cats simply will dig in, and not budge.

I assumed it was an idiot driver because he was almost to the curb. You can tell he was ran over and did not move after wards.

Thanks for turning a morning thread into a, "Hey lets figure out how the OP is wrong." thread just like they always turn out to be when certain people are allowed to open their mouths. I'll make sure the next person that post about their mom dieing to point out how its their fault she's dead.
