I can only imagine what is going through those workers minds in that pic, trying to talk my father in law into picking one up now

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that it isn't for sale because it's going into a personal collection or museum somewhere.

ok, so I just stumbled upon this thread now. Wow, being out of the loop sucks!!!!
Most things I'd say have already been said, but I have a couple. We know that Buell needed HD's money to "spread the word" etc and for the dealership networks. I also feel that those same dealership networks are the major downfall of the Buell brand. I have never in my life walked into a HD/Buell dealership and had anyone pay me any attention after I mentioned that I was interested in Buell. I found that the sales, parts, and service staff were all very ill informed and uneducated about the brand in general, as well as specific models. I have even been pushed toward various HD models when asking about a Buell model. All this does not lead to good sales. Further, very few dealers carried a selection of Buells EVER. To walk in and see a 1125, a XB12R and a Ully was a miracle in itself. My dealership even said they would only order a Buell if someone was commited to it. The first year of the 1125, they only got in 5... 3 they sold to other dealerships. the 2 others, one I bought, and the other was the showroom model for awhile, but they didn't bring it out until I showed interest in it and wanted to see one before I bought. FT BSTRD... you really work for a rarity in the HD world. I have heard many good things about your dealership, and I hope they continue. I love my 1125, and I'm glad I got it when I did, retail price or no. It was over 10K of wonderful riding that I never would have gotten without it. It is the anny edition as well... so it *may* at some day be a collector. But I tell you, it will not be a collector like some of these old muscle cars you see with low low original miles. I bought this bike to ride, Erik designed this bike for me to ride, so that's what I'll do. |
