Can't choose.

I never owned a dog for any length of time (rescued strays when we were younger) until I met my husband. Now I have a 7 year old, 104 pound big baby dog. He looks like he'd kill you given the right opportunity, and I'll have no issues with him being the big brother-keeper to my coming infant. He's got a wonderful personality. He's smart. Always happy to see you. Out going. Loves to explore. Always up for a walk/swim/wrestle, etc... He purrs when I pet him and he loves to be tucked into bed at night. Just don't show up in a mail carrier's uniform.

But we've always had cats growing up and they've always been amazing as well. All out cats would ride on the motorcycles with us. They'd follow us around, fetch, one could even use the human toilet My parents two tabbies are exceptionally smart and are great companions. They talk back, they follow you everywhere. They won't touch human food but they'll unlock doors and get into the freezer. They are quite crafty. As cats go, they are highly demanding b/c they are so personable. Other than being able to leave them for a couple days with food/water and a clean littler box, they are more like dogs than most people's dogs.

Hard to choose. We're just animal people and all our creatures are really special.

Oh, another reason to have cats....you don't have to talk to people at stupid places like a dog park.

For me it would be a dog all of the way...I'm just more of a dog person.

I don't hate cats as some do and cats are definitely easier to take care of and you can leave a cat for several days alone with food and water and a clean litter box where you must make arrangements for an inside dog.

We have a cat and a dog. My wife had the cat before we got married...he's a cool cat and although I'm not really a cat person I have definitely become attached to him BUT again...I'd rather have a dog.

The dog has to be taken out several times a day...bad weather...good weather it doesn't matter. I have to clean up the poop from the yard...and when he pees it sometimes leaves yellow stains in my grass especially in the heat of the summer.

I've had dogs all of my life and have had a couple of cats but having said this...I'd still rather have a dog.

Dog for sure.

-Dogs don't puke up hair balls.
-Dogs shit outside not in a box.
-Dogs alert you if he hears a weird noise.
-Dogs greet you when you come home.
-Dogs don't lay on the sofa and get hair everywhere(mine doesn't anyway).
-Dogs don't claw up your new furniture

I have 3 cats and I'm just waiting for the day that my Boxer decides to eat them.
