No it's not. You just need a lesson in Liberty, son.
Maybe someone else here has the fucking patience to explain it to you.

Forgot to mention though: I like how she says I was Miss USA, damn it! Like as if a TSA agent (or anyone else) is gonna know that shit, and like as if that would give her some kind of green light anyway.

I think it was just her way of saying "How'd you like to be the next big TSA headline?".

There's a video of Adam Savage from Mythbusters showing a foot long razor blade used to shape styrofoam that he made it through security with... There's also quite a few documented cases of people making it through with much scarier shit... Body scanning is INCREDIBLY invasive... I could give a fuck if the scanned image of my (horribly disfigured) naked body gets out on the internet... but what about kids? You know there's a disgustingly huge market for kiddie shit and we've already had a number of documented instances where these imaged were leaked... Basically the TSA has just provided another way for pedos to get more kiddie porn... and a good majority of the population just LOVES it! My theory on how this actually works... The Muslim fanatics see us all scrambling, compromising our way of life, allowing ourselves to be violated... and they love it. THAT'S the only reason there hasn't been another plane related attack as far as I'm concerned. However, at some point in time, we will piss off another group or some home grown whacko will go off the deep end, and we will see exactly how pointless all of this 'security' really is. Furthermore, you really want to talk about a lack of security? How about the huge gatherings of people in the lines waiting to go through security? I've been in lines of at LEAST 100 people. Nobody so much as looked at me when I got to the airport and walked up to these lines... Someone could saunter in with a fucking nuclear warhead and nobody would notice... Or fuck, how about just one suicide bomber in the middle of that mess - boom, I feel more secure. The solution is scrutinization of passengers based on profiling... Sorry, it's going to hurt some feelings, but the 90 year old white lady in a wheelchair is most likely not on a suicide mission to take out a building with a plane. The process now is completely brainless and EASY to beat... Profile and observe... use bomb sniffing dogs (the Russians have a FANTASTIC program)... No need to scan my junk or feel up my 6 year old neice... Ben Franklin said, "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." |

Before 9/11 hijackings were about the people on board the plane. They served as leverage the hijackers could use to make something happen. Sure, hijackers would occasionally kill a few to demonstrate how "serious" they were but overall hostages were treated as valuable and were relatively safe. Airplanes were targeted for no other reason than by design they easily confine a large number of people, are mobile, and were viewed (somewhat incorrectly) as easy to defend. Because of this people (including crew) learned to be passive and the situation would eventually be worked out. For obvious reasons that is no longer the case. If the theory about Flight 93 is correct assumptions about how to deal with a hijacking changed as the events on 9/11 were happening. Hijacking an airplane makes little sense anymore since hijackers are no longer going to be dealing with a passive group just trying to make it through the incident alive. The threat of death makes little difference to people who believe they are going to die anyway. Hijackers will now get a group intent on preventing them from using the airplane as a giant cruise missile. That shift alone serves as more prevention than any security measures the TSA could institute. On a different note, how many of you who are complaining about security at airports believe weapons should be allowed on commercial aircraft? |

After eating airport food pretty much anyone's ass is a weapon on a plane.

At best it's a pointless exercise, that serves only to violate people's rights.
I've gone through with a Swiss Army knife (the mac daddy motherfucker) a number of times. The best was being screened to within an inch of my life, only to be given metal silverware on the plane. Fucking clowns.
