good point about the $

funny thing, this past monday was the first time she came to the house, she had garage code and alarm code. we went outta town, asked the neighbors to keep an eye on the house but FORGOT to tell them about the new maid serv.

she came, neigbor called cops, 2 cars came, checked her ID and left...........

Once a month for a general all over cleaning.

$100 for our home which is between 3200 - 3300 sq. ft. so we think that is a great deal.

guess you could say I have a maid. That is what my sig other does. She owns a cleaning service. I have tried to fire her a couple times and import one of those french maid outfit wearing little girls but she always puts the kaibash on that one.

Yeah they love that, especially if it's a small cleaning service. Totally screws up their schedule. If you go every 3 weeks with a small service they will probably try to phase you out of their rotation. every week or every 2 weeks is best. once a month isn't bad as long as you're flexible on the longer months.
Just .02 from the other side. I get to hear her rant about the three week people.

I am out in CA for the holidays at my sisters place. She has a maid that comes once a week to clean. Actually, its a team of people, mostly illegals I am sure. They are here for 2 solid hours and they charge $100. Its a 4300 sq ft, 6/5 home, 2 stories...so its a lot of work. I was here last week when then came before Thanksgiving and they made the place look great....but its all top-cleaning, just to look presentable. I cleaned the windows and the oven, things they would never do.

We generally keep the house clean, but about once a month or so its woth 125 bucks to have someone come over to the house to mop, sweep, give the toilets a good once over, do the windows, vac the rugs, etc. To me, its worth it every once and a while.

Per the people claiming others were "rich" - I hardly think 100-150/month is really that big of a deal for even the most modest middle class family to be able to afford.

I dont find it a whole lot different than paying the neighborhood illegal 50 bucks to come over and rake up my leaves and do yardwork once every 6 months. To me, the cost far outweighs the time Id rather spend doing other shit where the help may be 100/hr rather than 10-20/hr. *shrug*
