This is the best part about my neighborhood. I can put a fucking buick on the curb and they'll pick it up. Garbage comes twice a week at the same times, there is no limit to what I can throw away...and if I put a bunch of shit out in between collection days they'll send a special truck out to pick it up. You don't even have to call them, they just come right out. Got trees to trim? Throw those branches on the curb and they'll come turn them into mulch. They even send a street sweeper through a few times a week.

We can put pretty much anything out too. Big shit will often be taken by some kind of hoarders. I put a beat ass grill out there one time and someone took it before the garbage truck came....just as I had planned. And we put leaves at the curb here, they come once a week in late fall to sweep them up....but no sticks and branches allowed.

Yeah. I'm just glad the shit wasn't on my curb when I woke up the next day.

Same thing in our neighborhood. Anything metal is sure to be gone before the trash man comes. Motherfuckers took my old gas grill.

Ah the law was written way before the bottled water/tea craze got big. I remember when it hit, all us ghetto types cleaned the neighborhood of cans because Meijers would take them all. My step mom used to give us "allowance" in beer cans!

Pretty easy here.
Two cans - 1 for non recycle and 1 for recycle. Random checks by the city on the recycle bins. If it isn't able to be recycled, you will get a note stating they didn't empty the bin (and why).
Got big stuff that won't fit in the can? Call them and put on the curb - within 24hrs the city will send a truck to come get it. this can be done once a month for free. Anything after you get charged per occurrence.

One odd thing though, is that I put a plastic grocery bag in with the recycle stuff, and got a note saying that type of plastic isn't able to be recycled. WTF?

Yeah, I gave up on it.
Kosovo? they basically do that here.
If your garbage day is on a Monday, tuesday or wednesday, your shit gets recycled.
If your garbage day is on a thrusday or friday, everything gets dumped on the same pile.
