In stock trim, yes.

Brock's got a 2008 up to 202.5 MPH with mapping and exhaust, in stock gearing.

So, while it seems unlikely that some unknown dude on a motorcycle forum actually got his to 217, I'm still not ready to concede that it's not possible. 30 miles of open road, geared to the moon, with a 120lb. rider? Who knows?

You're such a fucking buzz-kill.

But you're right. I have no idea what my actual speed was. All I know is, I saw an antelope about a half mile ahead, and I hit the fucking binders like my life depended on it. When I looked down, I was still doing 185 (indicated) and I have to figure I was going at least 5 mph faster than that when I hit the brakes, so my story is 190+, and I'm sticking to it.

Suzuki speedometers tend to be a tad but, um, optimistic

People lie all the time about bikes. Here's a guy selling his "R6" for a suspiciously low price. Because it's not an R6, it's an R6S:

There was another dealer(!) selling an 2007 SV650S "like new" (ad was deleted this morning), that suspiciously had no clutch lever and a broken turn signal. Must have come that way from the factory.

I'm a boat owner and still didn't know what it was. Of course my small boat has a speedo plus I don't take it out in the ocean anyways.

I did compare the boats speedo to a GPS and yep...it was off...thought I was running 65 and it was more like 61 which still isn't bad...just not as good as I thought.

But it's not like somebody's not going to know after seeing the picture.

The R6S is a superior bike for street riding anyway.

I have never looked at my speedo once the tach passes 5000.

There is a local guy with an 07 gixxer 1000 that only a few people know what is actually done to it. That is because he drag races on the street for money all of the time though.

As a boat owner you should know by now that many of your fellow boat owners use boat specific terms in order to give the impression they know what they are doing. Knot is one, but other common examples are port, starboard, galley, and head (different from boat-head). If your boat has one of the pitot tube fed spedos they are pretty useless. Depending on the boat and your desire to know they make spedos that connect to a GPS antenna and give you a true speed.
