What gets me is there are a tonof orthodox and hasidic jewish families who routineley have upwards of 8 kids, and they dont take handouts or milk the state and most of the kids are fairly succesful.

I heard that on the news this morning. Now thats some shit. They are going to need a short bus to take the kids anywhere. They can't buy two mini vans because you can't put one in the front seat and most won't hold three baby seats across the back seat.

I love kids but fuck that.

147 first cousins for me...

14 kids on my father's side.
18 kids on my mother's side.

They lived in the time of build-your-own farm hands (1930's). One family in Wisconsin, the other in North Dakota. Add to that their Catholic beliefs... bam - HUGE family. There were a few others born that died before they got to the age two, those "don't count".

The funny part - my mother was part of the march on Madison to change the law that a woman's husband needed to approve her tubal ligation.
