Not blaming him or her cause it is non of my buisness, but the whole "try to make your spouse as happy as possible" thing I'm not buying...It's a recipe to get taken advantage of or used.

I agree to some extent.

I think as long as you do not take it to extremes and just look out for your SO's over all happiness (as long as you keep an eye on allowing yourself some joy in the process) then everything will be for the best.
