Oh and neither does T-Mobile... so all of the 3G talk is just hot air in this market. Which is another reason why I'm more interested in the camera, memory, blue tooth capabilities, etc. Buying a phone for it's web capabilities around here is silly right now, imho.

So if your iPhone says 3G are you really getting a 3G signal? And is the Edge the 2G network?

Well it looks as though they have 3G coverage here but of course it's really slow 3G coverage, at least according to AT&T. Okay, now if they would be so kind as to bring their rate plans down a tick or two. The new Nexus phone will cost about $80 a month on T-Mobile with unlimited minutes, texts and web...if I'm not mistaken. Last edited by Amber Lamps; 01-07-2010 at 12:26 PM.. |

Edge is the GSM 2G. iphone 3G S is only 3G if you are in an area that supports 3G.

I was just making sure there's not some ATT conspiracy to display a 3G signal on your phone if you're not really getting one.

So, basically anyone who buys an unlocked phone and wants 3G is going to have to go T-Mobile and hope that their shitty coverage works OK for them?
