there is a larger risk of theft or damage with a larger service. The people working for them don't give a rats ass about your house, their "career", or the fact that you think you have enough money to have "servants".
Some of the women my better half worked with when she was with a service were unbelieveable. Worst story - cleaner rented a U-Haul and loaded it up with every posession of value of a house while the owners were on vacation and drove off. They were caught just over the state line. "funniest" story, girl asked for a ride back to the shelter where she was staying temporarily. She was only staying there until her BF got out of the barred hotel. What's he in for....................home burglary. Yes she was the case he was the lift. |

z again:
This is my best friend at work's cousin who lives across the street from her. Her cousin is a single mom just tryin' to make a livin'. The cousin actually took over my friend's mom's cleaning service of 20 years... when the mom "retired" people literally cried and begged her not to stop... I'm not worried about my TV. BUT, that's the only way I'd do it is if it was someone I knew. I asked a few of the housekeepers at work, but they live too far away to make it worthwhile.

If you don't count the basement that's only good for doing laundry, chucking it in a basket and getting the hell out, OR the attic which is just storage, we have two-stories and 1600 sf of living space and I am the maid. When Rob and I got together he was in an 800sf two bedroom duplex that was a typical bachelor pad. The first time I went over (we were just friends at that point) I cleaned that thing from top to bottom with him following me around telling me I wasn't his maid.
I still do almost everything, but he helps with laundry and anything I ask him to short of cooking...he can't and WON'T cook. I don't trust anyone enough to come in and clean...I'd love to have a maid, but I just can't do it. Besides, If you want it done right, do it yourself, I always say... |

i use a smaller service and the owner is always with them.. had them for over a year and never a problem with theft or anything.. they left the garage door open one time and of course the laundry door wide open.. i called to nicely tell her to make sure the garage door was shut next time and she flat out denied it.. so then i got pissed.. then i wasn't so nice.. so from then on they come in the house and close the garage door while they are cleaning.. they do an ok job but a few times i have found they missed areas.. i did a test - i cut my toe nails and left a few on the bathroom floor on purpose - after they cleaned i found them still there - now tell me they cleaned the floor? also i did an exhaust fan in the master bath and there was drywall dust - i vacuumed most of it but there was some left - it was still there after they cleaned.. but overall they do a good job for the most part..

I keep reading the title of this thread as "who's getting laid and how often"
