It's alot easier to take a handful of bolts to the hardware store to find the right size sockets than carry a complete motorcycle engine in. LOL

And the gas cans taken from German vehicles by GI's were dubbed "Jerry" cans, because they were "german" (jerry) gas cans. It became a popular term for the old 5 gal gas cans everyone used for years after the war, which were copied from the german design.
