Yea those aren't "fads"....Fraggle Rock was a show on HBO that really didn't take off that well and certainly never had huge marketing success. Heavy Metal was a popular magazine (I got it) from which some of the stories were made into a movie. Lastly, the first incarnations of microwaves were certainly a "must have" item but as they are an important appliance in almost all households, they can hardly be labeled a "fad"....

You guys remember friendship bracelets and pins? They still do that crap! And I believe there was a time when it was skin tight pants and XXXXL t-shirts for the girls with those scrunch socks over the pants (and leg-warmers) with high-top sneakers(with the friendship pins stuck all over them).

I don't think I'd let my kids watch Teletubies or Barney, hell Power Rangers for that matter either.

it's either Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, GI Joe, or Transformers. Nothing else allowed (unless I remember it and think it was the shit too).

When I found out he was watching the Telefags, I had to infuse him with mythbusters and Superfriends and bugs bunny... it was shaky for awhile, but I got him away from them!

Now he's into ninjas and Batman and Spidey...*whew*
