He/she probably shouldn't have run but he was probably freaked out by the "Motorcycle Gang" that was hanging around considering he/she just hit one. I could see him wanting to get out of that part atleast.
Now if they were smart the SUV leaving would be the best thing for the bike rider. If the SUV stays and they call the cops out to report the incident. Then they are going to report "He was riding on his front wheel in the corner". Instead teh guy on the bike can now just take his bike home and reflect on what a jackass he is.

In Florida, they would both be ticketed. Any time someone is hit from behind, it is always the person who is following at fault. Reason being they weren't maintaining safe following distance.

Yup, exibition/reckless driving for the biker, hit and run/leaving the scene/failure to maintain proper following distance for the SUV.

still i think the biker got the short end of the stick on this one. at least they got the plate numbers on camera... i'd blackmail the summbitch. "would u rather pay $10,000 in fines or 10,000 on a new bike for me?"

If I was in the SUV and did that I'd probably call the cops and tell them "I rearended a motorcycle that was doing a stunt. He appears to be fine but there are a lot of motorcycles gathered around and I'm afraid they might try to harm me so I'm going to stop at a safe location". Well I would actually be armed and pop any bastard who tries to take revenge but assuming the driver isn't a nutcase like me that's what I'd do.

Good place to stunt. I wish the SUV had been going faster.

In Florida you don't have curves, so the same rules can't apply.
There's no way to maintain a "safe operating distance" when some fuckstick is doing a stoppie in a blind turn. I have no idea who was driving the SUV, whether it was a man or woman, but even as a rider I wouldn't want to stop around a bunch of dipshits like that after mowing one of them down. If they're dumb enough to stunt in a blind corner and take videos of it, they're dumb enough for vigilante justice even though they're in the wrong. |

Dumbass on the bike got what he deserved. Best just be lucky he didn't get hurt badly. Those of us that live where curves like that are the norm drive a lot faster that the person in the SUV. It's idots like that that give all of us a bad name.
