Default Does Riding make you a Better Driver??

I was riding to work yesterday and It was a Gorgeous 60 Degree Sunny Day with a few clouds in the Bright blue sky. Couldnt have asked for better weather. And I came up on some traffic...Now its a two lane road and It is traveling through some state forest/woods so there are plenty of dotted lines to pass. So I pass the three cars I came up on and moved back over, No big deal...Then I see this jerkoff behind me up my ass DYING to get around me...Dont get me wrong I have passed a bike while in my car (harley riders mostly) but Im cruising at 70 with a Posted speed limit of 55...Not exactly slow. This Jerkoff actually passes me at like 85 and then Once he passes me Slows down to like 60.

Point of the story is there have been MANY times where I have been on the bike and other drivers have either moved over to give me a cushion when im near them or just been aware of me and waited to change lanes well after i was out of harms way...

And Also, When I drive my car and see other bikers I instantly observe where I am at at if any other cars are putting them in danger...That and my Bright yellow Look twice save a life bumper sticker usually lets Bikers know I am a rider myself...But I would say that while it wont help your skill as a driver it helps your awareness and the decisions you make.

you live in Jersey.

sorry but NYC drivers are practically freakin' SAINTS over NJ drivers.

Only thing worse: Drivers fresh from Canada (company on the board excluded of course)

true.

Thing is: I don't trust people who think they are skilled drivers

I will say that riding makes me a more ATTENTIVE driver at the very least...

Are we talking about good drivers or skilled drivers? A good driver usually doesn't have the skills to drive a car fast, but is attentive, courtesous, and not an impact to traffic. A skilled driver (and those that think they are skilled) are usually the biggest douchebags on the road.

I treat all vehicles like they're trying to kill me. Doesn't matter if I'm in the car or on the bike. But I get to make money if they hit me while in the car.

Yes I think it does, because you start thinking about what might happen 3-4 cars ahead of you. Also you avoid being in someone's blind spot.
