Default New Toy Delivered Today

Well, after many years and miles it's time to semi-retire the '97 Cougar (she'll be used for playing around in the local drifts and for kid duty).

My wife bought me a birthday present, a 2009 Arctic Cat T500 holdover. Got almost $1,500 off plus a decent percentage off on accessories like clothing.

Now that we have a family, the touring sled just seemed to make sense but from what I have read, it will be a lot of fun as a solo machine too.

Some of the best memories of my childhood were of the whole falmily loaded up on sleds packed up with food. We'd head off into the woods, stop some where around lunchtime, start a fire, cook up some hot dogs, have some hot chocolate, maybe roast a few marshmellows, then pack everything up and find our way back home again.

We did that dozens and dozens of times.

When I was real small I used to sit in front of my dad. I could fall asleep on that thing and my head would be bouncing up and down on the console as we were going down the trail

Is that a 2 stroke twin? I hear the technology has really helped keep the 2 strokes just as reliable and fuel efficient as the 4 strokes.

very nice.
I sold my sled last winter, not enough snow and too much cold. They are tons of fun when you have the snow though. My son and IO had some good times on sleds.

yes it is indeed!

updated EFI technology has really helped make them more efficient (and a hell of a lot less likely to fowl plugs) while keeping the power of the 2 stroke

You're wife is COOL!

It's gotta be terrible to get a new toy and know you can't play with it for a few months!

Nice, I rode the 1100 version. I'd prefer something like a Summit X800, but itll be fun nonetheless. Dont expect that 570 fan to perform miracles though, and when their stuck, their STUCK.

this isn't the 570 fanner, it's a 500 liquid.
