HP laptops = crap?
This is the 3rd HP laptop that has done this..........After about a year of use, it won't stay on standby or hibernate. Doesn't matter how you put it on standby/hibernate, whether by hitting the power button or closing the lid......It still powers back up a few minutes later while sitting inside your bag or backpack. Heck, my most recent HP is even worse, it not only powers back up, it actually reboots, and keeps doing so every ~20 seconds and you can't stop it unless you remove the battery and the cord and try again in a few hours.
And no, it's not me who keeps buying these things, they're company laptops. |

Windows computers have sleep issues. It's not just HP. The sleep function is broken in Windows.
...But now that you mention it; Yes, HP Laptops suck. Mac if you can afford it; Lenova Thinkpad if you can't.

I'm on an HP laptop now, I think the build date was somewhere around 2004 and it works perfectly.

I think not. Windows has known sleep issues, unresolved since day one. Perhaps you got lucky, and got a hardware combo that the sleep properly operates with...but for most, this is an old issue.
Google it.

Had an Hp that didn't make a year. Loose screen, dead pixels, busted usb ports and the power cord had to be plugged in at the proper angle. Didn't even bother trying to get it repaired under warranty. Lost all fate in them. My first pc was an Hp. It sounded like a lawnmower from day one and went through way too many components..
IMO, Hp = garbage.. |

Mine works ok. I did have a sleep problem but ended up with the computer causing all kinds of problems. I checked the hp website and there was a listed problem with the mother board or something. I sent it in. Had the repairs done and everything is good. My brother and sister sister both have HP laptops and they seem to be doing well.

It's a problem w/ something w/ the operating system, not HP. But HP's "ok" I don't like thier customer support.... but everyone is outsourced now so *shrugs* ya take what you can get when you have no other choice. |
