Gerbing G3 heated gloves

Monday night I'll write a review of the G3's I just purchased on saturday. I'll be riding the ZR1100 most of the week as the suburban is in the shop for valve train noise.

Forecast is for 30*F when I leave tomorrow morning. These are the new "microwire" technology.

Hook up was extremely easy. Remove the cables from your battery ( negative first, then positive ) add the supplied lead ( positive first then negative ) and reattach. A supplied split lead goes into your jacket and down the arms where a coax style plug connects each glove. Each finger and thumb is heated along with the back of the hand.

The real test will be in the morning. On my left hand, the pointing finger was cut twice ( once to the bone ) , the middle finger tip smashed and my ring finger had a good slice which required 8 stitches to close so circulation isn't too good. Pink finger tips after the 18 miles into work will mean a very good product.

Cave, I was actually looking at HD's new heated gear line up.

This morning when I left the house it was around 33*F. Per directions, I started the bike and then plugged the gloves in. Literally in seconds I could feel warmth.

The G3's feel great, nice and supple like they're already broken in. Controls are easy to operate and the wiring stays out of the way. About 2 miles from my house is a valley with a creek running thru it, it always feels cold in there but this morning wasn't too bad.

Usually my fingertips would start to feel cold about 12 miles into the 18 miles to work, this morning my fingers felt nice and warm. I got to work, unplugged the gloves and shut off the ZR1100. I pulled the gloves off and my three "problem" fingers felt great, nice and pink like they're supposed to be.

When I left work it was already dark, raining and about 45*. I decided to see how the gloves were without plugging them in. I rode into town ( about 11 miles ) and my hands were comfortable. After a quick stop at the store, I plugged the gloves in for the way home and felt the warmth right away.

I must say even though these gloves go for $140, it's a good value. I'm very happy and this should really help extend my riding ( and comfort too )

I purchased these at the local cycle shop and got a 10% discount for showing them my current AMA membership card.

Good review. I have one question though where are the heating wires? over the back of the hand or on the palm?

Nice... how much power do they pull?

I have an older pair of gerbings and theyre over the back of the hand not the palm.

The wires are on the back of the hand/back of the fingers. No wires to interfere with grip comfort.

From the paper with the fuses that come with it
( fuses included were 3 amp, 5 amp, 7.5 amp, 10 amp and 15 amp )

Pair gloves 2.2 amp draw
socks 2.2 amp draw per pair
jacket 6.4 amp draw
pants 4 amp draw
vest 5.4 amp draw
