I'm not even the least bit a hardcore gamer, but this dude is 100% right. Microsoft/Xbox is about to dig their own grave with this festering pile of doo doo. Who doesn't already have a Blu-ray player? Smart tv's have flooded the market (not that I have one tho). They say that they made something more suitable for more people than hardcore gamers.... this is a fucking GAMING CONSOLE. It's supposed to be for GAMING. Not the other internet bullshit that bogs down the system. If I want the internet, I have a desktop, laptop, and smartphone. I don't need my GAMING CONSOLE to do that.

Pisses me off. I'm glad I decided the 360 would be my last console, or else I would be running with my money to Sony.

Gaming consoles aren't used much for gaming. Almost 50 million people have a 360, a game is success if 2 million people buy it.

Sony and Microsoft realize they can't just sell hardcore gaming devices anymore. They have to appeal to the whole family especially with the price tags they now want for them.

To some extent I agree. The PS3 was released a year after the XBox 360 and had a significantly higher price. I think a lot of the reason PS3 sales can be viewed as a success despite these limitations is because it came with a BluRay drive and HDMI output, not purely gaming related.
