Have you heard of "spice"?

During our morning meeting today we were told to stay away from "spice".

I thought, at first, he was talking about Posh (is she in town? why do I have to stay away from her?).

Then I wondered why I needed to stay away from seasoned salt. But no, I was wrong on both counts.

Apparently spice is an incense whose smoke contains hallucinogens...go figure!

This isn't an illegal drug, yet, but the military can bust you for it...

Am I the only one who has never heard of this??? (Shall I crawl back out from under the rock I've been living under??? )

I've never heard of it either but incense usually makes me want to hurl!

I think you're confusing spice with Salvia. Which is what we're talking about in another thread right now.

It's sold as "incense". Even says, "Not for human consumption" Then on the inside it tells you how to smoke it.

Quite possible. Although the folks running the meeting called it spice. I did google it and came up with a few interesting items.

Spice is a mixture of herbs that has been sold in head shops in Europe and Canada as an incense, as well as over the Internet as an herbal smoking blend. Spice exhibits Cannabis-like effects when smoked due to the unlabeled synthetic cannabinoid JWH-018.

On December 15th 2008, it was announced by German pharmaceutical company THCPharm, that JWH-018 was found as one of the active components in at least three versions of the supposedly "herbal" smoking blend, cannabis substitute drug Spice, which has been sold in a number of countries around the world since 2004, because of its legal status and its similarity in effects to marijuana.

2-CI, aka 2,5-dimethoxy-4-iodophenethylamine, a short acting synthetic psychedellic compound. Can be taken orally or ed.

Often confused with mescaline, therefore it is sometimes refered to as "synthetic mescaline".

the name comes from the fictional conciousness expanding drug "spice" found in the book Dune, by Frank Herbert and the Star Wars films.
"They have been tripping on the spice all night."

Now I understand the Dune reference...
