Default Since Tigger asked...

and I didn't want to junk up the other thread any more:

Plus I think that my gf would like it once she got over the styling.
I haven't put too many miles on it yet, no thanks to work and stuff.
I can't comment much on the ergos because I'm having to get used to sportbike posture again, but they don't seem too extreme.

Power delivery (at speed) is really nice, but I haven't really gotten into it since I'm still in break-in (yeah, I'm one of those wimps who actually follows recommended procedures for that stuff) but the growl and oomph up to 6k is plenty to get my ass down the road.
The only really prickly part is taking off in traffic. The motor really wants you to wrap it up a little more quickly, but having slow cars in front of you makes that difficult.
A little clutch feathering makes it manageable, but it's clear that this bike wants to RUN.

Now, as for the much-touted handling...
As with some of my other answers, I'm a little too early into my break-in and haven't done any dialing in or adjusting.
However, from what I can tell so far, the reputation for having excellent handling is no exaggeration.
The 1125R feels like what I wished I my TL1000R could have. Maybe it could have, but I didn't have the money or know-how to get it there.
It takes little or no effort to toss it around, it balances easily when stopped, and feels like it weighs half of what it does.

Perhaps it's because I haven't been keeping up with modern sportbike offerings, but there are lot of neat features offered through the instrument cluster and controls. I won't bother to enumerate them because I haven't committed them all to memory or gotten around to tinkering with them yet.

So, all in all, I'm quite pleased with what I got.
I can't wait until it's broken in so I can really have fun.

Oh, and about the styling... When the 1125R first came out, I didn't care for it either, but it has grown on me rather quickly.
I sort of wish they had done an adaptation of the XB12R look, but still, I'm liking it.

I've seen talk of such things, but I don't know the details.

this is from another thread on another site, you might have seen it already

FWIW, I broke in my FIRST engine (08') the factory way...it lasted 11k mi. then broke a valve and DEMOLISHED the engine..

With the new engine(09') I've done the motoman way and as far as a i can tell...HUGE difference in engine noise and performance/efficieny, for the BETTER...only time can tell how long this one will last(hopefully 100k+ lol)

idk if it was the break in or if the first engine was just bad....but so far with about 2k on the new engine, its heaps better than the old one ever was...

That's how I break in.

Thanks for the answer! I might call Gas' friend and see what he says about sending one this way. I'm going to call my 401K people tomorrow and see about pulling a few grand out of my account. I'll also call the credit union and see what they say. Either way, I can't see any reason not to buy. Even if I totally hate the damn thing, I'm sure that I can sell it next spring.

Well, I'll get it on to 300 and dump the oil.
I've been using the upper RPM range (well, within the recommended) so I guess I'm kinda doing it Motoman style.

after 7k is where all the fun starts imho

again imho

Feel: the 1125 felt taller then the RC, the seat was alot taller, i could easily sit flat footed in the honda with my legs out to the side not straight down, with the 1125 my feet where straight down and just barely reached, im 6 foot even, so im not short... lol
I felt the controls were semi aggressive, not as much as the honda but thats a good thing makes for easier cruising but still had the feel to get into it when the curves came around

speaking of when the curves came around, the thing falls.. eh more flicks over like my old 636 only better, the suspension was set really soft from the factory so until the thing would be set for a fatass like me you cant really comment on how it handles

but you do notice the steep rake, you feel a direct connection with the front tire that was completly different then the honda or kawi that I had ridden prior.

power: the break in was well a short jump on the interstate and quick row through the gears and let them bring the bike down, pure motoman style

the engine has two split almost personalities, you could "lug" it around say 4k-7k and use the torque to get the job done, or wring its neck and place the needle well on the other side of 8-10k and have more overrev then the RC it seemed like, almost I4 like if you will, thing pulled like a tractor

It does have vibes when you do that, and dont be shocked by it, its just letting you know it has character lol

fit and finish was nice, i just hate the stock exhaust, and were it upto me i would put a blue HMF on the black bike with a blue speed screen, then again thats just me, fuck payin 500+ for a dman slip on lol
