I have no doubt that ANY government is relatively unprepared for any large scale disaster, and that any large disaster could destabilize this nation. Just look at Katrina.
I'm just surprised that as many people realize this as apparently do.

I was here in Biloxi for both Katrina and the oil spill. There's no such thing as preparedness. If there were, we wouldn't call them disasters.

Actually there is. It's called "response." If it takes 3 days to get people on-site to help, then the response sucks.
