Discussion on Inglourious Basterds?
I'm surprised not to have seen a thread on this movie yet. Anybody seen it?

I want to, but I forgot to go this weekend.
Although, I think Tarrantino is highly overrated lately. He has had two good movies, some mediocre ones and some crap. Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction were great movies, From Dusk Till Dawn was mediocre, and Kill Bill/Death Proof were both crap.

I like his movies - they are always entertaining...even if goofy at times. If nothing else, I appreciate his direction and narrative style. |

I can't stand Pitt, but went to see it anyway on the weekend. It's vinatge Tarantino. His late-'60s style with Mexican pop and such seems out of place in a WWII movie, but it somehow works. Even Pitt wasn't so hard to take because he sounded like a congenital idiot every time that he opened his mouth.
It's bloody, but not as bloody as Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs. I heard one reviewer this morning who described it in an interesting way; "Jewish porn", due to the fact that the "hard-bitten American commandos" are almost all Jewish. I could see where that comes from, but it isn't entirely accurate either.

Decent movie.
The only thing "good" about it was the idea behind it. Law abiding citizen looks like its going to be a great movie. |

I saw it over the weekend and generally liked it. The gore was a bit much for my liking but wasn't a turn-off as it was relevant to the point he was trying to make. Great story line IMO.
