Dog Help???
Way off topic but I'm desperate to help my girl!!!
Has anyone ever dealt with dog seizures? If so any advice for helping her? I have started to work on pressure points and also giving her honey after they are over. This does seem to help but the poor girl is having them every 3-4 hours. It is breaking our hearts to be so helpless! Any tips would be greatly appreciated! This is Ruby, my sweet baby!

If you have myspace drop my sister a PM. She'll probably respond pretty quick, she was a vet tech for years and now runs a non profit org for animal rescue. Very knowledgeable when it comes to stuff like this but I recall one of her Dog used to have seizures.

Call your local vet as well and see if there is an over the counter med she can take, or something in her diet that can be changed. If they got nothin, make an appointment and get her some prescribed drugs.

Holiday weekend means no vets for three hour drive (we tried that to).

We found a hospital that is in Flat Rock which is 2 hours from the house. We have just got back home from taking her. They have put her on IV meds and sadated her so they won't be so bad on her body until we can get them under control. They are thinking that we got her there in time and she will be OK. She will have to be on stronger meds from now on. I'll know more later this morning. Just keep your fingers crossed that she gets better.
Thanks to those of you that tried to help!

She is doing much better! Still pretty drugged but no seizures. They ended up tripling her dosage of meds. We got to go get her last night and boy was it good to see life in her eyes again. The seizures gave her some sensitivity issues. She jerks away like you've hurt her when you just lightly tough her, light and sound mess with her but the vet said this will go away in time. We've got her in a quite semi dark room lying on a huge soft dog bed.
We take her back to our vet on Friday to check her med levels in her blood and some other tests/blood work. Hopefully all will be good and the poor girl won't have to go through that hell again. In 24 hours she had 12 major tonic-colonic seizures. It was pure hell for all of us. We're so thankful she's going to be OK. It's amazing how quick they can still your heart! Thanks for the support!!
