Pauldun170 new ride report right here please F
Waiting for a review of that sweet new 08 you have in your possession. For what it's worth I happen to think the yellow/black looks better than the silver red.

So far, its only got the 9 miles on it from the ride home from the dealer. I'm hoping to squeeze in some break-in miles tomorrow and hopefully some more later this week.
The only thing I can comment on is going from a 16 year old heavy weight that acts its age to something from the modern age. So far the biggest adjustments going from the ZX-11 are: 1. So this is what they mean by "handling". While the ZX-11 was fine in the sweepers, when it came to twisties it was one of those "pick your lines, ride the water bed and hope for the best" . With the CBR, I can see why everyone says its so confidence inspiring. Maneuvers were effortless. Reminded me of my friends R6 in the way it handles. 2. Throttle response. F'n instantaneous compared to the ZX-11 (though it is overdue for a carb synch). 3. Being able to ride without 32db ear plugs. Gonna have to shop around for new plugs with a lower rating. 4. Um...the lack of mass. 5. The transmission. Its going to take getting used to a drivetrain with no slop whatsoever. 6. Call me weird but it may be more comfortable (for me) than the ZX-11 Otherwise still breaking in the engine, tires are still fresh and the roads are cold so it will be some pretty tame riding for now. I'll try and get something up soon. |
