Default Just did the R1 throttle mod

And apparently its waaay easier on 954s (and i assume 929s) than on the 1000rr. pulled everything apart, loosened the cables at the throttle body, and slapped it right in. no clearance problems at all. hairsprays gotta dry but im hoping to take it for a spin tomorrow. goes to wot super easy with no regrip though

for those that don't know, for some boneheaded reason yamaha's r1 and r6 have larger throttle cams than the standard size the other three use. when placed in one of the standard sized bikes they become 1/5th and 1/6th turn respectfully.

Wouldn't that make throttle precision a bit choppy?

A bit more I'm sure but I'll learn to adjust. Besides, its jersey we don't have any corners here

Is this making the throttle easier or changing the amount of opening to W.O.T?

I need to get a 1/4 throttle on my ZX6r.

You can also do it with a piece of PVC tubing... it's on my list for the Tiller.

True, I wanted the simplicity of an oem part here though

And I want the cheapness and frustration of a DIY part.
