Knife questions
I've been looking at knives to carry and to have around. I don't really know much about them or what I should be looking for in a good knife. I picked up a Kershaw Clash based on some good reviews, but it's a little larger than I thought it would be.
What should I be looking for in a good knife? What should I be avoiding? Any recommendations for a good carry knife under $50? I've been looking at the Spyderco Tenacious or Persistence, but I'm open to other stuff.

Knives should be sharp, and have handles.
Crappy knives aren't sharp... stay away from them. |

I carry this knife every day.
http://www.kershawknivesdirect.com/k...ge-p-8629.html I love the assisted opening and the blade stays sharp for a very long time. It's small enough to be comfortable in my pocket and big enough for what I need. This is my second Kershaw knife in 10 years and I'm very happy with it.

I have a mini-Gerber in my pocket at all times unless I'm traveling by air (grumble)

I actually carry a knife I got from the recruiters. Seatbelt cutter, window breaker, and a nice knife. Only good thing I've ever gotten from a recruiter!

I received one of these for Christmas a few years ago. It is similar to what Bluestreak posted. I really like the assisted opening, though I do have to take it apart to clean and oil it occasionally. It has stayed very sharp for the few years I have had it. |
