Andrea tried to do the visit thing when we were considering building a house, but they would never call her and give her a time to come in.
Have you gone over there yet?

They just compare all their prices to MSRP. Who pays MSRP anyway? Also, membership is $5000 and $200 every year after that. I took a lot of notes and went home and did some internet price comparison. Most places on the internet were cheaper. DirectBuy fail.

I haven't went myself but I wouldn't call it a scam. A lot of companies use the msrp to show how much lower their prices are, and thats fine. He didn't go by that price. He looked at their selling price and the selling price of other stores. James

I've had friends who were members. It only really makes sense if you are going to buy a ton of stuff since the initial membership is expensive (like $2k 10 years ago). One friend had a house built with no flooring or appliances. He figures he saved around $5k buying through them and ended up with everything how he wanted it, not with what the builder had to offer. Another did a 15x30 complete bar in his house. With everything he got he says he saved somewhere in the $6-7k range.

As goof said... it only works if you're buying a shit ton. Otherwise, I can't see it being an advantage.

My neighbors belongs to them and they say they've saved a ton of money finishing their basement.
