Chain and Sprocket Recommendations for CBR
My 02 F4i has 16k miles on it and its time for a new chain.
I was looking through my service manual and it said it has a 525 chain. After looking at www.sprocketcenter.com and trying to find a package deal, it seems that there are more options for a 520 chain / sprocket combo. Now forgive my lack of chain knowledge since its been a some time that I've had to mess with chains and sprockets (chain snapped on the TL 3 years ago) I'm looking to stick with stock setup as far as sprocket and chain are concerned. http://www.sprocketcenter.com/p/3149...0f4i600rr.html Is something like this what I'm after? I'd like to stick with a DID chain (I just don't know about the different variations of them) and sprockets (maybe AFAM, I know to stay away from Vortex), this package shows a front steel AFAM, and a rear steel from DriveSystems. I'm not familar with DriveSystems so that is whats throwing me for a loop. Bike is just rode purely on the street. Thanks for the help. |

Nothing wrong with that setup at all. DiD, IMO, is the best chains out. The steel sprockets will be great for longevity.

IMO, Tsubaki makes a great chain. Go with an X-ring and you'll rarely have adjust it.

I have a DID chain and Vortex Aluminum sprocket that I take horrible care of on my CBR600 F3. I've put probably 20K+ on it and it's still doing great.

I bought a DID 525 chain and OEM sprockets for my F4i from SoloMotoParts.com for under 150 bucks last summer

I'm running a Regina chain with JK steel sprockets. Very pleased with both. Next time it will either be a Regina chain or a DID chain and renthal sprockets.
