What sets the price?
I'm looking at bike and see a ton way over kelley blue book (I know there variants) and man it just blow my mind.
I'm looking at an '08 gsxr 600 and the dealer wants $8500 (there's an '09 in san angelo for less ) and blue book calls for $4700. Are people really trying to almost make 50% profit? |

The only thing that sets price is he ability to sell. They think they can sell it for that much, and I'm sure that there is someone who will eventually pay it.
Ive seen some pretty crappy bikes for outrageous prices, and then I go back to the dealership they are gone, assuming that someone bought it at or close to the asking price.

I could be wrong but that KBB price sounds like a used price. I don't think a left over would go that low. If your ready to buy, have the cash or pre approved loan then go in an make a deal. If your ready to buy and the two of you are not WAY off in what you think its worth then you should be able to make the deal happen. James

IMO, for a pre owned bike, 8700 is absurd. the ONLY way I'll pay that is if its an MV Agusta F4, but for a gixxer, hell no.

Wow. I could see paying that on a left over but not used. Did you talk to them to see if they are willing to move at all on the price?

4600 is low. around 6-7.5 would be about right for a clean 08 depending on mileage.

Thats what I was thinking. Every late OO's are in the $8k or more. Of course I'm sure they'll pull the "low miles" BS. Well no shit. Hardly anyone really rides a bike. To most guys its a penis extension. Quote:
I was referring to buying a new bike. Prices are going up up. |
