The nicest thing about that truck? No depreciation! Ten years from now your new truck probably would be worth about 20% of what the sticker OTD price was, if not less. That thing? Probably worth damn near the same amount you paid for it. I am buying a old tow-vehicle in the next year or two, putting some work into it.

Synthetic isn't going to cause any issues other than burning a tad more during warmup since it doesn't thicken as with conventional. Therefore you need to check the level more often.

Congrats! I always loved that body style....now with all the $$$ you saved over new, get some new upper/lower control arms, drop spindles, 14" Slotted Brake Rotors and matching oversized calipers for up front, Do the disc brake conversion in the rear along with a shackle drop kit, some nice rims - 20X8 up front and 20X10 in the rear and you'll have a truck that handles as nice as it looks!

From what I've read 85 was a transitioning year for a few different body designs.
