Ground beef is just beef that's been ground, right?

Because steak is made from one piece. The bacteria is on the outside when cut. You cook the outside. I love mine medium rare!!! Just melts in your mouth!!! Have never gotten sick from a medium rare steak.

Hamburger is a collection of lots of pieces and the bacteria gets pushed into the inside. It's also handled more. You should thoroughly cook your hamburgers unless you ground it youself from sirloin.
