Except you can't pull a 5th wheel with it, so it's not even that

Thumbs down

So it looks like y'alls criteria for ultimate SUV is based upon how much fuel it can burn in a mile? They're all obnoxious IMO.

Personally, when we trailer/camp, I pull two bikes on a HarborFreight trailer behind an Integra or Accord which both get about 22~25mpg while towing.

But thanks for the pious attitude anyway...

Hey, I drive an E90 M3 and a Ridgeline, so I'm not exactly pious!

But my wife and I try to conserve where we can. She drives a Jetta TDI, and fuel mileage is weighing heavily in our search for a bigger family hauler (Subie Outback @ 22/29 mpg is currently in the lead).

I didn't say fifth wheel. I said tag trailer. It is the ultimate tag trailer rig, and not surprisingly, that's what they're used for (large boats, mostly).

They do have some that have a crew cab (4 doors) and a utility bed, with 5th wheel flange for even larger 5th wheel towing.

The Unimog and Mercedes are rather pimp......But the rest seem like poser gear for those Mexicans & White guys who want the fake semi-tractor look with the exhaust stacks and the whole 9 yards. Not to mention they are more "full-size trucks" rather than SUVs. You want a real "ultimate SUV" that is actually decent to drive on the street, check this.........Supercharged, bitch!

I agree on the "fake semi" thing. I'm not sure if what you are posting up is any better though. Anyone who seriously takes a vehicle off road would either not put the plastic ground effects crap on it or it would be damaged and hanging all over the place.

I agree, that Land Rover would be near-useless off-road, but from what I've seen the vast majority of SUV's never go off-road or tow anything. So it stands to reason that those who are looking for the "ultimate SUV" would probably want a street cruiser, while those who want to tow heavy loads would instead be looking for the "ultimate full-size pickup"
