But from what he says, his business degree is pretty useless.
Wrong on a lot of levels. Saying you never used your degree is like saying you never used your elementary school education.

Education teaches you something. That "something" might be different for everyone. But it taught you things, or rather you learned from it, and those experiences are of value.

i disagree, a bach of business admin/mgmt looks alot better then bach of theatre.

esp. for any job outside of the entertainment industry.

I used to think that too. But to be honest.....getting jobs is less about that than you think. It sucks but it's the truth.

Depends what school you go to..........A top-notch liberal arts school attracts recruiters from all over.

I guess what I meant was not so much that we didn't " use" our degrees, because of course we have, they really teach a person how to think critically, but more so that the degrees were not instrumental in my husband getting a job as a pilot nor so much my b.a in psych getting me my teaching job.

Hey, I resemble that remark!

For the most part a business degree is more useful than a LA degree if 1) you are trying to get a job in business and 2) you have no experience. There are other times when it can give you an advantage but they are limited. Concerning the utility of the degree, even excluding work I use what I learned pretty often.

When I was in my early 20s, all the partiers who didn't know what they wanted all became psych majors.

I imagine it does go in cycles, but I can see business being the new english lit majors.

Psych is for the people who dont know what they want to do. Business is for the people just know they want to get a job.
