the buell blast is a great vibrator, but thats about it. I've ridden two, one started easy, but wasnt beat to shit. still shifted like a clunky BRICK, and wasnt a fun bike, the other wouldnt start and stalled a lot.

I'd look for a ninja ANYTHING over the buell. JUST because the ninja shifts better. even going into first is better on ninjas.

Funny you should mention that... I liked the clunkiness of the gearbox on my Buell.

I couldnt stand to handle that. its downright irritating to me. if someone GAVE me a buell other than an 1125, it'd be parked with a FOR SALE sign on it just because of that gearbox. thats how much I hate it.

That's a not uncommon reaction...

I've grown to like it too. But non-owners don't understand.

I'm in the process of bringing it back to life. It has sat for the better part of the last 2-3 years. I'll tell ya this. That bike is STUPID easy to work on.

I'm doing some YouTube videos of the revival as well if he wants something to look at once I get it done.

Apparently it's a pretty fun bike to ride. She has the 1098 now, but insists that once I get it running and roadworthy, she will ride it some.

I haven't had any trouble finding parts. There were a couple of things I had to snag from eBay, but all of the maintenance stuff I've needed I've been able to pick up at the Harley/Buell dealer. They had everything in stock too. I haven't had to *order* anything yet.
its amazing how much fun small bikes are. My 450 was practically free and that things a riot
