Me too. The figures are obviously being determined per capita, and that tends to make the smaller states look more dangerous on paper than they actually are. i've been all over South Carolina, and there have been very few times when i thought "Fuck, i should NOT be here". I agree about the "per capita"...I mean if Mayberry has a murder it's bolts right to the top.

I've only been two places in SC that I felt "uneasy" and one was Parris Island, SC in USMC bootcamp and the other was North Charleston.

Why am I not surprised Nevada made #1? So we are #1 in crime, foreclosures, #2 in unemployment, #50 in education, dental care and probably #49 in health care. I'm sure its really Las Vegas that is dragging the rest of the state down. Hmmmm, where should I move to next?
