Just saw Thor, I'm thinking you guys need to not read too deep into stuff, that was fantastic entertainment. It won't win a Nobel, but it IS entertainment.

The gratuitous shirtless shot was pleasant too.

I completely agree with this assessment. It kept my interest (and my 5 year old too) for 2 hours, plus I left with a smile. I dont expect to see it win an oscar for anything, unless there is an Oscar for screaming and grunting, but it was a solid popcorn action flick.

There was a lady who was probably in her late 40s sitting right in front of me, and when they showed him shirtless, she said really loudly 'OH MY', then she sunk into the seat real low. That was funny

I can't say that I think any movie is worth $12.00 and $10.00 for a small drink and popcorn, but it's definitely worth seeing. The effects in certain scenes reminded me of the first Chris Reeves Superman movie.

Kat Dennings needs her own movie.

I spent $23 for me, my wife, and my 6 year old. We enjoyed it, each in our own way. I really liked the backdrops and CG scenery and it had some good comic one liners in there.

Saw trailers for Green Lantern and Capt America. One of these summers they are gonna pull a blockbuster kick ass Marvel movie that will have all the characters. That should be mayhem if they get the plot right...

You do know thats the plan right? Thus why they are coming out with all the individual movies. They are setting up for The Avengers (i think its gonna be called) with all of them. Iron Man, Thor, Capt. America, etc.

Exactly. That's why they're calling it "Captain America: The First Avenger"

I am still wondering if they are going to be able to make it happen though. They are going to have a hard time getting all those stars together for one movie.

I don't know about that. They've done a pretty good job of casting some second stringers, in key roles, who would be more than glad to have the exposure. I think that the biggest issue might be to haul Robert Downey Jr. out of whatever rehab he happens to be in, at the moment.

The Captain America trailers don't show much, past the origin story, so my guess would be that the Avengers movie will effectively start a few issues into the original comic, with the discovery of Cap frozen in a glacier.

I realize that, but the man seems to have an allergy to success.
