I rather like it. There are times when the pushed contrast/pinhole effect just works.

I'm guessing that you've got a Photoshop action for those. I'm lucky; my latest camera has "art filters" and can do it with in-camera .JPG directly. I can use the preset and if I don't like the effect, then I've still got the RAW file to work with.

I don't use Lightroom. In fact I barely use photo editing software; Paint Shop Pro when I do. I'm more of a documentarian so most of my shots rarely get more than a subtle tweaking of the curves or a little unsharp mask. If you're dealing with a couple of thousand shots over the course of 3 days and have to get the best to the editor the same day that they're shot, then you learn to make do.

I had three shots published by a group based in England and while they all started as RAW files (I turf out the .JPGs shortly after the event), they were all developed with the in-camera settings. One got a run through Noiseware, because it was shot at ISO 800 on a heavily overcast day. That's it.

ahh ok... yeah I need to be better about processing my photos right away.... even with a couple hundred I get lazy and they pile up.

I'm not out to win any awards with my photos... I'm more into figure'n out what looks intresting and what not... (funny I say that in a POTM thead) I don't really even look back at my old photos... most aren't really for memories... just a hoby.

the ones I keep for memories go unedited... cause they just get copied to a cd right away.

I'm with ya, brother. Aside from HDR, I'm not a fan of touching up photos. I like to do it right the first time. And even the HDR, I dont like the super cartoonish looking HDR's.
