Yeah, they just changed shit this year up here, too. You're required to take in all sorts of shit if you want the new "secure" id. However, the majority of people (I think I heard it's above 70%) are opting for the non-secure id. I think the difference is the "secure" id has a bunch of your personal information encoded on the barcode on the back so your id can simply be scanned to prove it's real or some shit.

I haven't heard of this and I just had my license renewed in January.

Actually this is just for a standard DL or ID card in Florida.
