i think so, you learn to watch around you more and pay attention to your surroundings. I am also much more aware when a bike is nearby.

I actually cut a car of the other day going to work because he was right up this bike's butt in stop & go traffic and I didn't want him to rear-end the guy so he could make it to work 8 seconds faster. I got behind the bike and followed at a much safer distance.
