thanks for the tip on engineering schools/ tuition waivers tho...I will be saving up money for grad school while im working in case I don't get an RAship. if i do end up getting an RAship, then I'll buy a trackbike

are you MS or PhD and which major? any advice on grad school admissions?
I'm getting my MS in mechanical engineering. I finished my courses a while ago, but just a course-only masters doesn't really mean anything. Trying to finish up my research and thesis now.

They offered me the same deal (free tuition, stipend) to stay on for my PhD, but I turned them down. I am not going to need a PhD (I don't want to be an academician or do only research) so it wouldn't make much sense for me to stay on.

I will probably grab my MBA as well once I get a job, I'll have them pay me to go get that.

Admissions is more political for grad school than undergrad. If you want to go somewhere, visit and talk to professors about their research/work and try to line up a professor you could work for.
